Teaching Areas
In teaching and research, Professor Mroczkowski focuses his attention
on international business. His areas of special interest include comparative
restructuring and its impact on employment and management reform in transition
economies. Additional areas of interest include international outsourcing
and globalization of R&D in the biotech industries.
Publications
Professor Mroczkowski is the author of more than ninety works, including
articles in California Management Review, Academy of Management Executive,
British Journal of Industrial Relations, Journal of Small Business Management,
International Trade Journal and The Journal of East-West Business.
Additional Experiences
Professor Mroczkowski has lectured at universities in Japan and Europe,
including the National Defense Academy of Japan, Copenhagen Business School,
University of Cambridge, University of Paris-Sorbonne and the Ecole Internationale
des Affaires in Marseilles. He has conducted executive development seminars
for leading American and European companies, such as GM, AT&T, Union
Carbide, GE and Polaroid. In addition, he has served as a consultant to
Japanese, US and European companies.
Mroczkowski has testified on the Support for East European Democracy Act before the U.S. House of Representatives and been a media commentator on international business topics. He has been featured on the NBC Nightly News interviewed by leading Japanese and European dailies, including Tokyo Shinbun and Shinichi Shinbun. He has contributed to the Asian Wall Street Journal and The Japan Times.
The professor is a recipient of a number of grants, including awards
from the Andrew A. Mellon Foundation, the US Agency for International Development
and the German Marshall Fund of the US. Mroczkowski is Academic Director
of the Institute for Private Enterprise and Democracy in Warsaw and serves
on the boards of the Center for Strategic and International Studies at
MSU and on the Steering Committee of the Center for Information Technology
and the Global Economy at the Kogod School.
